Learning How To Cook with Cannabis | Sushi + Doobie Rolling Workshop
March 2, 2022
Sushi + Doobie Rolling Workshop Presented by High Dining Club! Learn how to roll a joint with a flower, enjoy gourmet sushi and meet people who enjoy both!
What do sushi and Cannabis have in common? The ubiquitous roll, of course. This is not simply learning how to cook with Cannabis, this event has elevated it to an art form.
Victor Miller, a professional sushi chef from Alaska (Grammy’s, X-Games, Bill Gates, The Dalai Lama), shared his expertise in a two-hour workshop, to a room full of students, press, and media. Hosted by Green Wave relations, Keiko Beatie, these evening events begin with an exhilarating start and a large helping of culture and entertainment.
Green Bee Life’s own, Maria Calabrese, was there to learn and partake in the festivities. Past events included a Brite Labs sponsored Vape lounge and some irresistible appetizers to indulge in, such as smoked scallop te-maki, a pot d’huile (pot oil – cannabis infused olive oil with a 2mg THC serving) Meyer dry miso and an Ah Ah Poke martini (infused with Papa & Barkley 1:30 THC:CBD Relief tincture drops)! Students learn how to roll a Sumo crunchy roll with the option to infuse with a tinctured garlic migi sauce. High dining was on the menu!
The height of the workshops include Chef Victor Miller speaking on the history of sushi, while he demonstrates how to roll sushi and educate everyone on what to look for when buying fish to make your own sushi. A section of the workshops concentrate on proper dosing for food, how to find the right flower for meal pairing as well as how to grind your Hummingbird Medicinal flowers.
After the class, time is reserved to mingle with other like-minded Cannabis enthusiasts. Music from this Pre-Covid event was provided by Jack Pharaoh, an experimental live electronic musician, that had everyone enjoying the beats. Some of the influencers we met were Molly Peckler, a Cannabis matchmaker, and the CannaSexual, Ashley Manta, Cannabis sexologist, who is a survivor of abuse and believes cannabis is responsible for her ability to enjoy sex again. There was also a company called Pepper & Co. Medibles, whose products are used in some hospitals for patients with epilepsy.
High Dining events bring together both the curious and the connoisseur who can responsibly enjoy their cannabis.
Maria thrives off giving a voice to the cannabis industry's most innovative brands and community, while helping them get the exposure they deserve to unleash the full potential of cannabis as a wellness solution.
One of the biggest misconceptions about infusing cannabis into food and drinks is that you can just throw some marijuana nugs into a recipe and wah-lah, now you have an edible! Not the case. Raw cannabis will not give you the full psychoactive effects because it doesn’t naturally have THC but rather the acidic form of […]
“In strict medical terms, marijuana is far safer than many of the foods we consume.” – a finding from the U.S. Department of Justice. The automatic reaction to ‘throw some raw weed into my smoothie, please’, will likely be one of shock. Most reactions surrounding consuming the cannabis plant in its raw form echo the […]
